•Close-up of the trends Autumn / Winter 2006/07: The new "TrendVision” in hall 10, an accessible, staged event on 600 m2, celebrates the sensual symbiosis of shoes, fashion, lifestyle and arts.
•The "Press Presentation Special Brands" in hall 9 provides background information and introduces renowned companies from various segments in the programme entitled "Behind the Scenes”. Industry expert Dr. Claudia Schulz, editor-in-chief of STEP and SCHUKURIER magazines in a discussion with various companies, including AREA FORTE (progressive & stylish), AUDLEY (sporty & feminine), LOTTUSSE (luxurious and sophisticated) and MAGNANNI (classic & elegant).
•DUNLOP continues its success course: The international trend shoe label is going strong with hot retro-looks, presented in a separate "Trend Show” at GDS in hall 5.
•Elvis would have loved this: The new "Design Attack" in hall 13 presents American glitter look in the style of Las Vegas during the fifties. 100 limited exhibitors, some of which offer well-known, successful labels, and newcomers with strong market profiles provide the vibes to set the scene.
•Two dates now included in your GDS ticket: "Order Info by TextilWirtschaft” with fashion expert Gudrun Allstädt offers professional decision-making tips for the purchase of shoe fashion that corresponds to the latest fashion trends (Trend Forum, hall 10).
•Italy is hoisting its flag for the worldwide promotion of Italian shoes in hall 9. On the "Italian Catwalk", nine renowned labels present their collections in separate shows. VOLTAN 1898 introduces its classic-exclusive line, ALDO BRUÈ shows sophisticated-elegant selections and LATTITUDE FEMME provides the stylish-progressive element. In addition, "Consorzio Maestri Calzaturieri del Brenta”, one of the foremost professional associations of the Italian luxury genre presented with more than 20 labels, gives a compressed overview of new colours, shapes, materials and trends. ANCI, the national association of Italian shoe producers, presents its communicative project entitled "I love Italian Shoes”.
•The "Kids Special" on approximately 600 m2 in hall 10 focuses on hotly discussed measuring systems for children. In addition to live activities involving elementary school classes and sports associations from Düsseldorf, the professional panel discussion featuring RICOSTA, RICHTER, FAGUS and Professor Dr. Frank Mayer, University of Freiburg, as well as moderator Dagmar Rees, editor-in-chief of SCHUHMARKT magazine, will shine a spotlight on the topic of "Measuring Systems for Children” (Trend Forum, hall 10).
•The "Wellness Special" is directed at another important growth market. On a special area of roughly 150 m2 in hall 12 at GDS, BIRKENSTOCK, THERESIA MUCK, MEPHISTO and SWISS MASSAI introduce their technical innovations. Nadine L'Allemand, editor-in-chief of SHOEZ, presents market news during a panel discussion with the companies at the Trend Forum in hall 10.
•"The numbers must balance. Basics of business management for the sales department” and "Season-related stimuli for fashion and shoe trends Autumn/winter 2006/07”. Shop Assistants' Day for sales associates at the POS focuses on the hot topics of the retail sector.
•"Empty warehouse - full cash register! Successful marketing of excess merchandise". This professional presentation sponsored by LDT Nagold Textile College shows new ways to success for specialist retailers.
•On about 170 m2 in hall 14, TIMBERLAND presents an exhibition entitled "Yellow Boot”. 24 exhibits by 19 artists entice with artistic interpretations of the classic footwear.
