Strength In Numbers!

During the WSA show in Las Vegas in August 2006, the organisation of the World Shoe Fair Organizers –WSFO- was founded. Founding members include GDS, MIDEC (Paris), Couromoda (Brazil), MICAM (Italy) and WSA (USA). The goal of the organisation is to counteract the globalisation of the shoe trade. The focus is on exhibitors and visitors. Members plan to react jointly and creatively to the challenges of the market on a global scale.

“This affiliation will mainly benefit the customers. WFSO concentrates the experiences and strengths of the trade fair organisers. The developments in the international shoe business demand new impulses and global responses,” said Kirstin Deutelmoser, Vice President of WSFO. Modacalzado in Madrid also joined WSFO in 2007.

WFSAO will be based in France. François Browne de Kilmaine (President of Midec) will act as President, while Kirstin Deutelmoser (GDS Project Director), Rossano Soldini (President of MICAM) and Francisco Dos Santos (President of Couromoda) are the Vice Presidents.
