Collected The urban hype of the previous seasons continues but will level out in Autumn/Winter 2009/10. Entering the picture as a new trend is cheerful rural living with a slightly informal mood – great for translating in the Collected theme. Clear, complementary contrasts and strong whisky and cognac tones make for a colourful picture here. With patterns, too, inspiration is drawn from unlimited resources. The look is lavish and young and loves the mix. Almost too much is exactly right here!

Tartans, Canadians, Glen checks and kitchen patterns… checks in all their variations join in here and play a key role, not just on their own but also in daring combinations. Inspiration here also comes from arty-looking collages, Impressionist patterns, patchworks, colour blocking in two or more colours, Paisleys, classic Nordics, eastern folklore, oriental rugs, camouflage variations and many other sources …

In terms of shoe styles and key details we see rustic boots, high-fronted styles, chunky Cuban heels, perforated edging plus effects used in a classic and sometimes slightly ironic way. Accessories are also lavish: bags stay large but are not quite as huge as they were in the past seasons. Metal decoration, studs, textures, sheepskin, fringes, images shorn in fur, lasered leather and furs, pony, croc, and patent leather plus lots and lots of decoration round off this theme.
