10th Edition of design attack
Hot Party with a Cool Motto – Queen Alpin
The design attack area at GDS will be celebrating the event’s 10th edition with an anniversary party. This exhibition area is considered a treasure trove for that something special – with a cool blend of independent fashion, urban and underground streetwear including accessories and lifestyle products. A new motto plus a matching design and event world also makes every season an experience. The theme for the Autumn/Winter 2009/10 season is ‘Queen Alpin’ and the area can be found in Hall 3: visitors and exhibitors can experience London here as a sophisticated ski resort in the Alps drinking gin and tonic with Glühwein and ice-skating with the Queen. The big party will kick off on Friday, 13 March 2009 from 6.00 pm in the design attack plaza.

El Naturalista promotes Atauchi Project
Shoes for Schools
Spanish shoe manufacturer El Naturalista is known for its environmentally-friendly production methods, use of natural materials and its social commitment: with every pair of shoes sold from the “Nasca” collection a proportion of the revenue goes into aid projects. Since 2004 the company has promoted the education of children in Peru as part of the Atauchi project in cooperation with the aid organisation “ProPeru”. A total of Euro 150,000 has already been invested, for instance in the building of schools and homes. 2009 sees El Naturalista extend its activities to the African continent. In collaboration with the aid organisation “Asociación Ayuda Escuelas Profesionales África” (Association for Aid to Vocational Schools in Africa) they intend to promote the building of a school in the small town of Ganga in the north of Togo. Until now only 15% of children have attended primary school in this region.
