Sneaker Trends in Autumn/Winter 2010/11
Respectlessly Creative

Can sneakers still hold any surprises for us? In the 2010/11 Autumn/Winter season they manage to do so with a mixture of retro elements from various decades, as hybrid forms, in new colour combinations and metallic looks.

Styling elements and designs from any era are picked up on at will – from urban loafers, boots or bootees: calf-high, laced styles on sneaker lasts and soles are presented as boots. Lyra eyelets decorate Chelsea boots. Rough biker styles and classy low-cut calfskin styles with a vulcanised soles symbolise urbanity. Some sneaker uppers rest on narrow, refined lasts – other more rustic ones, on profiled soles.

Brunotti Footwear
Casual Shoes with Ski Appeal

“Feeling good has a name,” says the slogan at Brunotti, the surf and lifestyle label from the Netherlands. Behind this non-typically Dutch-sounding name is the Italian company founder Claudio Brunotti who stayed on in Holland after arriving there in 1979 to be fascinated by the surf of the rough North Sea waves. His first surfboards were made at his own workshop in Scheveningen.

Today Brunotti features not just boards and fashion clothing but an entire lifestyle range including bags, eyewear, accessories and the casual line Brunotti Footwear. The licensee for the collection is the young and fresh shoe specialist Palms & Pines Footwear B.V. from Waalwijk.
