Spanish Shoes

Shoes from Spain
Top Quality Trends at Top Speed

What makes Spanish shoes so interesting for international specialist shops and customers? According to the Spanish Shoe Association FICE, Spain is currently the second-largest shoe producer and exporter in the European Union. 70 percent of their output is delivered to approximately 140 countries worldwide. Among these, Germany is the third-largest market with more than 165 million euros in sales and 10.5 million pairs.

One important factor in the Spanish success is the enormous speed with which strong-selling trends are implemented. More and more Spanish shoe manufacturers are reacting to the quick-fire fashion ranges from leading vertical suppliers in the local and international markets with continuously updated, trendy collections. A plus point on their side is their noticeably higher quality standards: A convincing price-performance ratio in the mid to upper price ranges is considered in the shoe industry to be one of Spain's most outstanding strengths.

A Radiant Touch

Lodi, the Spanish ladies’ shoe label from Alicante, comprises two lines: Lodi Red presents classic, cool fashion – comfortable shoes for business, office and shopping. Lodi Black is focused on pure femininity, the styles come with sexy high heels.

Mascaró
Underway Around the World

The Mascaró brand from Ferreries on Menorca has been around since 1918 – at that time ballet shoes were still made by hand here. The high standard of quality has never wavered: Trendy design, traditional craftsmanship plus modern production processes are the family's principles.

Menbur
Fashionable Look with Classic Beauty

Spanish ladies’ shoe label Menbur from Atarfe-Granada is, by its own accounts, the largest evening shoe manufacturer in Europe. Elegance plays a major role here. The spirit for Autumn/Winter 2010/11: classic beauty meets the latest trends. Harmony, daintiness and a sprinkling of naivety are radiated by delicate designs, adorned with Chantilly lace, tulle and ribbons. Vibrant opulence and splendour are demonstrated by styles with rich precious stone embroidery, sequin waterfalls and silk lace.

Paco Gil
Spanish Shoes Help Togo

Paco Gil from Alicante in Spain produces high-quality ladies’ shoes and is thus now collecting money for the “All With Togo” instant relief project. The non-profit relief organization has taken up the cause of helping people in the impoverished African nation.

The small “All with Togo” shoe collection consists of two styles designed by Paco Gil. The styles are designed in the national colours yellow and green, the soles and heels are made of cork, a high level of wear comfort is ensured by the bio inner sole.

Pretty Ballerinas
Pretty True to Style

With Pretty Ballerinas the name says it all. The Spanish company with head offices on Menorca produces pretty ballerinas and they are continuing to boom: “We are currently producing non-stop. We attribute our success to flat shoes being comfortable – and comfortable shoes are always in demand”, the company says.

Victoria
Summer Feeling All Year Round

Victoria's famous classic is a simple fabric sneaker that is available in an enormous variety of colours starting at just under 30 euros. The most remarkable feature of this simple sneaker is the aromatic rubber sole that quickly led to its nickname, "chewing gum shoe". Victoria has long since offered other fabric shoes, as well as ballerinas.

Magnanni
Quality the Mission

The high quality requirements are seen as a mission by the Spanish family-run company Magnanni: the shoes are handcrafted and exquisite materials used while an extra high degree of comfort is ensured by the Bologna design. By company accounts customers include Bergdorf Goodman in the USA, Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, Isetan in Japan and KaDeWe in Germany.

Filmkunstkinos: Bambi, Cinema, Souterrain im Café Muggel

Bambi, Café Muggel & Co.
Düsseldorf’s small Pub Cinemas

Off to the cinema after the fair? You will find plenty of opportunities in Düsseldorf. The UFA at the main rail station or the UCI Kinowelt in Dusseldorf’s harbour district present the latest block busters in 3D on giant screens, while the Cinestar in Heerdt shows original-version films (nearly) every evening.

But anyone who is looking more for a living room atmosphere will find it in the small art house cinemas, mostly with adjoining pub or café. The smallest of them is the “Souterrain” in the Café Muggel in Oberkassel, with a seating capacity of just 70. The tickets are sold at the bar as are the drinks, which you can take with you to the tables in the hall. At the heart of the Altstadt (Old Town), in the Schneider-Wibbel-Gasse, you will find the somewhat larger “Cinema” and then there is the Klosterstraße, home to Düsseldorf’s now legendary “Bambi” for 45 years.
