MCM has changed: the famous travel and handbag label with that unmistakable allover look has become a globally successful fashion brand with a wide and varied portfolio over the past few years. In addition to finest leather goods now apparel, shoe collections and accessories for men and women are also being produced. What has not changed is the image: MCM stands for elegance, luxury and handicraft.

MCM is short for Moderne Creation München and Munich also saw the establishment of the company back in 1976. Since 2005 the brand has been owned by the Korean Sungjoo Group. Its owner, Sung-Joo Kim, has made sure since then that MCM products are only sold in the most exquisite stores and the brand’s own boutiques worldwide – with resounding success. New outlets have opened in over 25 countries, including Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, China and the USA.

A new era was rung in by the MCM New York collection in 2009 when 15 departments were opened in leading branches of the US giant Saks Fifth Avenue. This line fuses the time-honoured values, prestige and quality of MCM with a modern luxury look – in keeping with the lifestyle of the day. MCM fans include such VIPs as Lydia Hearst, Coco Rocha, Heidi Klum, Cindy Crawford, Veronica Webb and Patricia Field.
