“These shoes are not only labelled “Made in Spain” – there is a little bit of Spain in every pair,” says Jose Abellon about his shoes. In mid 1970 he set up his company under the American name Kentucky Joe S.L. in Crevillente in the Alicante region. The firm specialises in cowboy boots supplemented over the last eight years by the high-fashion women’s shoe line Quest. Uppers and soles are made from Spanish leathers only. Design, development and manufacturing are all in-house on site. Every year approx. 200,000 pairs of Kentucky cowboy boots and Quest styles are shipped from here throughout the world.
