Swedish spirit with a little extra

Trends are not really all that important to Shepherd; yet despite this approach, the label is a very trendy one indeed. The styles of this Swedish company are typically Nordic: warm, comfortable and pleasant to wear.

“We’ve never made an effort to be trendy,” is their message. Based in Svenljunga, the Swedish company mainly makes loafers, though also boots for men, women and children. What is far more important to the designers than fashionable trends is high quality, excellence and a responsible attitude towards man and nature. Quite unintentionally, however, these ideals are in fact today’s trend.

Shepherd’s sheepskin slippers are warm, comfortable and pleasant to wear. Much attention is paid to small details, as Shepherd wants to ensure, as they put it, that “each pair comes with a little extra”. The skins that are used have undergone in-depth processing and have a specially soft finish. Each loafer consists of 28 parts which are put together in 36 stages, mostly by hand.

The Outdoor collection for Autumn/Winter 2012 comprises fur-lined lace-up boots and boots with high legs and rough soles. They are made from rustic leather. Loafers are either closed at the top or slip-ons. Super-soft lace-up shoes are available for babies.
Environmental protection is very much part of Shepherd’s corporate philosophy. The company endeavours to be as eco-friendly as possible and is keen to ensure short transport routes, a minimum use of chemicals and good working conditions. Shepherd follows its own special Code of Conduct, including a Code of Animal Treatment, which it also stipulates for all its contractors.
