High-End Fashion with an Eco Factor
The shoes and accessories from Icelandic premium brand RE 101 are made from fish skins. The clear-cut shapes here are ideal for highlighting this unusual material.
Icelandic label RE 101 stands for luxury women’s shoes and accessories made of the finest fish leather – and also for a conscious approach to natural resources: only locally sourced and sustainable produced fish leather is used here. The headquarters are in Reykjavik, the goods are elaborately produced by hand using traditional methods by an Italian family firm near Venice while German Judith Orlishausen is in charge of design. She describes her line as “high-end fashion with an eco factor”. Her style is avant-garde and the shapes clear-cut. She allows the styles to primarily make their impact on the basis of this unusual material.
The 2012 Autumn/Winter collection includes ultra-feminine shoes with a sexy touch. Serving as details are classy decorative elements, refined cut-outs and delicate lacing. Knee-high boots with a wedge heel in two-tone fish leather boast classic, timeless appeal here in sophisticated basic tones.
