The company boasts 30 years’ shoe manufacturing experience. The blend of traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques means Ducanero can manufacture a variety of different shoe types. The firm is specialised both in the Bologna and moccasin methods. With the classic Bologna methods the sides of the uppers are sewn directly onto the leather insoles thereby creating a kind of pocket. The insoles are finally sewn onto the sole. The result is an extremely soft and flexible shoe offering maximum comfort which gently adapts to the shape of the foot. With the elaborate moccasin method before sewing the uppers are laid over pre-heated metal lasts and hand ironed and knocked into shape. Using this technique the sole is laid onto the upper thereby stabilising the shape.
