Piccadilly – Wellness Classic, Fashion, Therapy
Trend meets Technology
What is special about the Brazilian shoe label Piccadilly is its wide variety. Whether it is fashion styles, classic comfort shoes or orthopaedic footwear – the firm caters to virtually all wellness segments. In the trend-focused part of the collection designs for Spring/Summer 2011 centre on a romantic mood, a touch of the 50s and folk influences combined with soles boasting ingenious comfort technology. The result is high-fashion styles that can be worn as “everyday shoes without any problem,” says the company.
The colour scheme features soft neutrals, earthy hues, skin tones and off-white. Bursting with loud, power-charged energy are greens, pink, violet, purple, red and cobalt-tinged blue denim. Colourful graphic prints decorate outer fabrics and insoles. Shapes are round or pointed including high and flat sandals, stilettos, ballerinas, peep-toes and fitness sandals in fabrics and synthetics. As for heels platforms and wedges remain hip.
Features providing great comfort include light PU heels and a variety of insoles. Ensuring flexibility and a soft step are textile inserts in the front part of the sole known as the ecologic layer. EVA insoles (ethylene vinyl acetate) are also light, very flexible and easy to clean. Patented insoles with PU (polyurethane) gel perfectly adapt to the anatomy of the foot. An innovation here are insoles with 3D foam bobbles that gently massage the foot with every step.
Piccadilly has been making shoes since the mid-1950s and is today one of Brazil’s largest shoe firms producing approx. 230 million pairs of shoes a year. The company supplies approx. 10,000 sales outlets in 100 countries. Fashion and comfort are the firm’s guiding principles plus a conscious approach to nature. Piccadilly shoes are manufactured using leather tanned without chrome, cadmium and lead and the firm has used only water-soluble adhesives since mid-2008.
