Dancing Shoes
At GDS – Photography Exhibition by Gerrit Starczewski

Shoes worn by rock stars will be on show at the Urbanworld of GDS – photo artist Gerrit Starczewski loves to observe the likes of Gossip, REM, Kings of Leon, Mia and many other musicians from an unfamiliar angle. For a number of years he has only photographed their shoes and feet. Last year the collection was published in an illustrated book called “Dancing Shoes”. The idea was received well: Spiegel, Stern, Art Magazin and Arte TV featured the artist. At GDS Gerrit Starczewski will exhibit his photos at the urban Lounge in Hall 03, Stand C20.

The series of lectures will be kicked off by the popular Orderinfo by TextilWirtschaft, starting as early as 9.30 am, this time on Friday. Editors Jelena Juric and Gudrun Allstädt will provide a comprehensive overview of the key sources of information and latest fashion trends as seen in international fashion capitals.

Supertrash
From the Heart of Hollywood

Right from the heart of Hollywood comes Supertrash, the ladies’ brand founded in 2001 by party and it-girl Ava Riley. Even though entrepreneur Olcay Gulsen now handles all business affairs out of Amsterdam, Supertrash has retained that spirit of the glamour metropolis L.A. This is ensured by Socialite Riley with her very personal style. Her designs fuse current trends with vintage inspirations, California light heartedness and a dash of boho charm. Supertrash styles are always feminine, sexy and absolute eye-catchers.

Luiza Perea
Floating through the Streets

“Be it on high heels or flats: I want women to happily “float” in my shoes through the busy streets of Sao Paulo, dance into the small hours of the morning at New York clubs or enjoy sightseeing in Madrid,” says the young shoe designer Luiza Perea. For her not only design but also fit and ultimate wear comfort play a key role. The Brazilian premium label of the same name is a newcomer at GDS. Its collection for Spring/Summer 2010 features court shoes, peep-toes, flat sandals, booties and boots. Genuine salmon leather, soft tilapia leather, shimmering goatskin and patent leather are used. Key here are wooden heels and playful cotton strap details.
