Verdict on GDS
Buyers in the Best of Moods

Empty stockrooms and until now a successful year for retail generated a positive mood for the shoe fair duo GDS and GLOBAL SHOES. Some 28,600 visitors from 79 countries attended the two fairs from 10 to 12 September. Exhibitors delighted at the rise in quality and the best of ordering moods amongst buyers. The GDS Survey confirms this impression: nine out of ten visitors gave the shoe fair a very good rating in their overall assessment.

TRENDS ONSTAGE
Top-Level Shows

Top-level runway shows provided a great kick-off to GDS in Düsseldorf. The videos of these shows are now available: in the upper style Show star model Charlott Cordes walks down the runway in the latest premium styles accompanied by the rock band "mIMi". Watching all this in the front row is actor Max Tidof who considers shoes to be the key to all outfits. In the Wellness-Show "Easy to go" Miriam Höller, known as a stuntwoman and model from Germany’s Next Top Model, presents her favourite shoes: sneakers.

The GDS Trend Show entitled "Follow the Trend" stages the GDS trend themes 'Primary', 'Vibrant' and 'Multiply'. Established cult and lifestyle brands plus sportswear and children’s shoes carry visitors off into a fairytale world in the "Shoes in Wonderland - Urban Fashion & Kids Show".

GDS Trends Spring/Summer 2011
Primary, Multiply, Vibrant

What is essential for Spring/Summer 2011? GDS focuses on three key themes for the presentation of shoes and accessories:

Primary is reduced to key materials and colours giving rise to a picture of lightness and clarity. Soft lines and graphic contrasts are juxtaposed here.

Multiply modernises authentic naturalness with technical finesse.

Vibrant focuses on rich, radiant colours that conquer all materials and textures often set in sandy neutrals.
