Julian Hakes

Julian Hakes is an award-winning London architect and bridge-builder. He entered the world of shoes by chance: one summer’s night he was thinking about shoes and why they really need for a sole all along their length since the main weight of the body is distributed over the ball of the foot and the heel – especially with high heels. Hakes set to work with a bridge in mind. This gave rise to the “Mojiti” archetype, taking its name from that refreshing lime cocktail. The shoe style consists of an individually wound strap that starts under the ball of the foot stretching across the arch, running down to the floor into a heel and then twisting its way up from the pointed sole to then provide support as a surface and clasp for the heel. You can find Julian Hakes in hall 4.

The Jacksons

Bags and shoes by London Label The Jacksons will be celebrating the complexity of womankind in Autumn/Winter 2012. The result is an homage to the complexity of women who master their lives as travellers, celebrities, workers, fashionistas and/or mothers. The colours are subdued and the materials both luxurious and functional. Modern details mix with vintage touches. Deconstructed, timeless bags reflect a love of both practicality and simplicity.
