Established in 1951 the third-generation family business in Canada has specialised in selling a select range of luxury shoes, designer bags and accessories and excels at staging its exclusive ranges correspondingly.

The entrance concourse is dominated by a glass centrepiece decorated with a lavish violet orchid arrangement – the display area for special eye-catchers in the new range. “Enthroned” here are creations by the “grand masters” Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Louis Vuitton alongside designs by the likes of Michael Kors, Walter Steiger and Emilio Pucci. Every shoe displayed here finds its place on a transparent acrylic glass installation.

Incidentally, the extraordinary store concept results from the creative cooperation between the founding family Markowitz and the multi-national design office Burdifilek. The interior design is based on a simple principle: “Regardless of whether it is the range or the interior design – we always offer our shoppers the best of the best, “says David Makrowitz. This principle of the tradition-rich company has already rewarded Davids with a number or successes including the World’s Best Shoe Store, selected by the editors of the international trade magazine “Footwear News”.
