Rohde Shoes for Romanian “Kinderzukunft”

Shoe manufacturer from Northern Hessia fits out an entire Children’s Vil-lage in Romania with shoes thereby alleviating serious social hardship

200 pairs of shoes were presented by Erich Rohde GmbH in Schwalmstadt to the children’s charity “Kinderzukunft” last Friday. With this donation the traditional manufacturer of high-quality comfort shoes wishes to help needy children in the Romanian town of Timisoara. The Children’s Village has been in existence since 1994 and was initiated by the organisation “Kinderzukunft” from Gründau, a char-ity that also handles other projects in Guatemala and Bosnia-Herzegovina. There children are given a new home, care and support, education and training and, hence, the chance for a better future.

“It is shocking to see how many needy children and youths still live without pros-pects for the future in Romania. Helping these young people is a matter close to our heart. By cooperating with “Kinderzukunft” we can make a change knowing that our support gets to where it is needed. Warm shoes are in urgent demand there, especially before winter sets in as this season often brings freezing weather in Romania,” says Daniel Tibroni, Marketing Manager at Rohde.

The tradition-rich brand has selected functional and comfortable styles in sizes 27 to 41 to help these Romanian children on their path to a new future. Heide Kolb of “Kinderzukunft” was delighted with the donation and immediately forwarded it to Timisoara.
