Being one of the largest trends of the nineties, Palladium boots made a slow but steady comeback in the zeroes. But by opening a first European brandstore in Amsterdam, the French label has made a definitive return. With that the authentic fashion classic shows it has passed the test of time effortlessly.

Founded in 1920, Palladium went from making tires for the emerging avation industry to producing footwear after World War II ended. This adventurous heritage has obviously inspired the interior of the Amsterdam brandstore. Campaign photo’s on canvas alternate on the bare walls every season and form a smooth contrast to the rest of the store interior. The pictures portrait the modern day explorer, as the brand refers to wearers of Palladium boots today. This motto takes us back to 1947, when the French Foreign Legion decided on wearing the, now iconic, Pampa boots because of their functionality, durability and comfort. With the term modern day explorers Palladium celebrates the second youth of this classic boot, completely made out of (tire) rubber and canvas. The store also offers modern day variants on the classic models though, which are strikingly executed in robust leather or cosy shearling. With this, we are sure Palladium’s sturdy footwear is here to stay.
