Joseph Cheaney Shoes have been making high quality men’s footwear since 1886 and are celebrating 125 years of expert English craftsmanship.

Purchased from Church & Co. Ltd. in August, 2009 by Jonathan and William Church the company has returned to independent English ownership for the first time in 45 years.

The brand has developed and prospered by dedicating itself to manufacturing high quality men’s footwear using the Goodyear Welt method; the best known way to manufacture footwear built to last.

Melding quality with comfort, it takes up to 8 weeks to make a pair of Cheaney shoes involving over 200 hand operations, preserving traditional shoemaking methods. In an ever-changing world, the fact that all shoes are still made in the same Northamptonshire factory from start to finish is testament to the skill and dedication of employees both past and present.

The Cheaney customer invests in a quality made shoe that is timeless in style, contemporary in design and 100% made in England.

To commemorate the 125th Anniversary, Cheaney have created the 125 collection with new styles crafted on the 125 last which bears all the hallmarks of Cheaney’s rich heritage.
