Gloves from Naples

One hundred and fifty thousand pairs of gloves leave the Neapolitan family firm Labonia every year. They are delivered worldwide to top addresses of international repute.

Exclusive stores like Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, John Varvatos, Harrods, John Lewis, Harvey Nichols and others are customers of the Labonia glove label. By company accounts, approximately 150,000 pairs leave Naples each year on a journey to the finest stores in the USA, Canada, Australia, Great Britain, France, Japan, Korea, China, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Russia and obviously also in their country of origin Italy. Furthermore, Labonia produces for renowned premium and designer brands like Gerard Darel, Aigner, Paul Smith, MCM and Prada.

Epifanio Labonia learned the art of glove-making at a factory and after working there for 15 years he fulfilled his dream. He opened his own company in 1960. His dream lives on: today in its second generation Giuseppe and Daniela run the family firm Labonia Gloves di LAB s.r.l. in the heart of Naples remaining true to a forward-looking outlook and current fashion trends in the skilled craft tradition.

Used here is soft nappa and suede, for instance from deerskin, lambskin and peccary. Lining is made of pure cashmere, wool, silk, fleece and rabbit skin sourced from the USA, Great Britain and Yemen. Alongside fashion gloves, gloves in white nappa for special occasions are also made, for instance for weddings.

Depending on the materials used, retail prices range between Euro 39 to Euro 200. Every year a new collection featuring 70 to 120 styles is presented for Autumn/Winter.
