TW Trend-Info A/W 2017/18
Fashion Experts provide Trend Overview
This year’s GDS - Global Destination for Shoes & Accessories started off with an exciting lecture about the upcoming trends for Autumn/Fall 2017/18 by Gudrun Allstädt and Simone Reiner. Two new impulses - Bold and Sporty – will be adding thrilling elements to the already well-known trends next season.
Besides expressive components in form of prints, next Autumn/Fall season will be shaped by a dynamic, sportive trend expressed through clean colours and comfortable looks. Especially graphic prints in gem colours play an essential role in ladies’ wear in Autumn 2017. Floral patterns combined with metallic elements are key pieces. In 2017 velvet is the trend fabric for women while it is all about corduroy for gents. Men’s wear focuses on autumn colours, which leads to an expressive and strong style also in footwear. Fur is a popular material that adds more expression to every look.
A cooler counterweight to expressive stiles is created by sportive elements. White, blue, black and grey create a certain momentum. Next to functionality comfort is and remains a target. Down jackets and sweaters with logo prints are next autumn’s key pieces. This sportive look in fashion is accompanied by rough and robust mountaineers’ shoes. Sneakers appear more futuristic than ever with exciting bootlegs.
Lace-up and biker boots are again very popular in autumn 2017. However, velveteen boots in light grey and rose colours set new accents. Also, feminine half-boots are presented in the new trend material and in hip gem colours. To add even more expression to this design, these booties are garnished with tantalising, colourful embroideries.
“More expression for shoes” is also the topic for sneakers in 2017. The sportive design in a velvet-look with comic elements is a real eye catcher. Next to white and clean sneakers colourful designs with high legs are in vogue.
High-tech sneakers with functional details and classy, white sneakers accompany male fashionistas through the autumn season 2017. The business look remains classic, although striking soles underline a masculine look.
